Since he was two weeks old, our little one has loved being carried in the ERGO on the front with the infant insert. Now he's big enough to ride in the carrier without the insert and on our fronts or back, like in the picture below. Every day he spends some time being carried and it allows us to do so much more with our day and hands, as well as carry him more comfortably for longer periods, and keep him calm, content, and happy. Being carried allows him to nap when he needs to, nurse when he needs to, and stimulates his need for touch, connection, movement, and need to explore the world in a safe capacity. It's so great to have a babycarrier that is comfortable for both of us, and the baby.

The organic ERGObaby carrier has been our number one favorite baby carrier because it's easy to take on and off, is sturdy, stylish for mama or papa, organic cause the baby likes to teeth on it, and the double hip and shoulder support makes it comfortable for long carries, and will last from infancy to toddlerhood. It also has a cover to button over the babies head for sun, rain, or wind protection (or crumb protection when you eat lunch while carrying your sleeping baby). There's also room in the front pocket for a couple extra diapers, keys, and more.

I love the ERGObaby, and highly recommend it as a mama, postpartum doula, and bodyworker! I've tried all kinds of baby carriers for over 12 years, as a mama and babycare researcher, and love the occasional wrap carrier and adjustable sling, or backpack for older babies, but the ERGO is to go-to carrier for all purposes from naps, to shopping, to hiking. If a new parent was to just get one carrier, it's worth it to invest in the ERGObaby.

<div id="664435987144653872" align="left" style="width: 100%; I love how the mother carries her baby on her back - while gathering water, working in the fields, and preparing food. Children's stories that are meaningful and portray aware parenting styles are high on my list of good children's literature.

Through this lush tale, the mother speaks to her baby, telling of the rhythms of the day, and gently soothing her baby to sleep. Stories before bedtime are a wonderful ritual for parents and children to share, and calming lullaby stories such as "Lala Salama: A Tanzanian Lullaby" are a perfect ending to a full day and assist in ensuring sweet dreams for your little one.

Lala Salama: A Tanzanian Lullaby
by Patricia Maclachlan

Carribean Sweet Potato Mash Recipe

http://www.mamatribe.com/1/post/2012/02/carribean-sweet-potato-mash-recipe.html

http://www.mamatribe.com/1/post/2012/02/carribean-sweet-potato-mash-recipe.html#comments

Uncategorized

Sweet potatoes! They are so delicious and healthy. One of my most prized grounding root dishes. This is my favorite sweet potato dish which I learned how to make from one of my postpartum doula clients years ago. She was a new mom - famished from breastfeeding her newborn round the clock and eating a restricted diet due to her baby having reflux and food allergies. Her neighbor, a highly esteemed gourmet chef, brought her a bowl of these delicious sweet potatoes which satisfied her intense mama hunger with deeply nourishing roots with a special flavor twist. She was so enamored with them, she saved some for me to try, to attempt to replicate the recipe, so I can share with more hungry postpartum mamas. After years of making this recipe, this is my favorite vegan version to satisfy the hunger of anyone - even a new mama!

2 large sweet potatoes, washed and cubed
3 T. coconut butter
1/2 lime, juiced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. fresh cilantro, chopped

Simmer the sweet potatoes in just enough water to cover until tender, 15-20 minutes. Drain and add coconut butter, lime juice, and salt. Mash. Add chopped cilantro and stir. Taste. Add more salt or lime juice if desired. Enjoy!!!

For babies 6 months and older, reserve some sweet potatoes and mash plain.

Evolutionary Family Communities

http://www.mamatribe.com/1/post/2012/01/evolutionary-family-communities.html

http://www.mamatribe.com/1/post/2012/01/evolutionary-family-communities.html#comments

Uncategorized

It is essential for the continuation of life on Earth that we experience an evolutionary shift to be&nbs [...]

It is essential for the continuation of life on Earth that we experience an evolutionary shift to be a conscious, peaceful, healthy, and humanized society of people.
